Open your eye
বিবর্তনবাদ
ডারউইনবাদ

Open your mind
বিবর্তনবাদ প্রানী বিজ্ঞানের একটি শাখা।
ডারউইনবাদ বিবর্তনের একটি তত্ত্ব (সঠিক কি ভুল বিবেচ্য নয়)।

Absent Mind

Open your eyes

REAL BANGLADESH

Rabindranath Tagore:My Favourite Author

The first time when I had sung the National Anthem composed by Rabindranath Tagore, the rhythm and the tune touched my heart and magnified the love for Bangladesh. I started reading his short stories and poems, which he created for children gave me real pleasure. His power of simplification and showing the beauty of truth within little things for extensive exemplification for which my inquisitiveness feelings make him my favorite author. The Tagore’s were of a cultured and wealthy family. Rabindranath Tagore was born in 7th May 1861 and died in 7th August 1941. His father, Devendranath, was one of the leaders of the Brahma Samaj. The poet's early life was spent in an atmosphere of religion and arts, literature, music and paintings. As an author, the trend of his life was early contemplated. He was brought up and taught on three languages- Sanskrit, Bengali and English.

Tagore's literary life outspread over sixty years, and he reminds one of Victor Hugo in the copiousness and variety of his work: over one thousand poems; nearly two dozen plays and play-lets; eight novels; eight or more volumes of short stories; more than two thousands songs, of which he wrote both the words and the music; and a mass of prose on literary, social, religious, political, and other topics. In addition to his English translations of some of his literary works; his paintings; his travels and lecture-tours in Asia, America, and Europe; and his activities as an educationist, as a social and religious reformer, and as a politician- and there we have, judged by quantity alone, the life work of a Nipple. Suffice it to say that his genius was no more than the capacity for taking infinite pains; but to note the element of steel and concrete that went to his making, and thus to dispose of the legend, that has grown in some quarters in recent years, of Tagore the pale-lily poet of ladies' table.

In 1901 he founded his school, the Santiniketan, at Bolpur as a protest against the existing evil system of education. The school was a great success and transfigured Viswabharati. On revisiting England in 1911 he brought with him the English Gitanjali, and it's publication in 1912 and the award of the Nobel Prize for literature the following year made him world-famous. This was the first award of that prize to an Asiatic. The rest of Tagore's life was spent at Santiniketan, except for several travels and lecture-tours in which he carried his message of human unity to all the important countries of Asia, America and Europe.
Tagore was a proud and ardent patriot. His most intense period of political activity was in the years following 1905, when the agitation against the partition of Bengal was at its highest speed. He renounced his knighthood in 1919 as protest against the Amritsar affair in a letter to the Viceroy, which is among the great documents of freedom. His patriotic poems and songs, particularly the latter, have passed into the common heritage of his country; the song “Bharata-bhagya-vidata” is now sung all over India and “Amar sonar Bangla” in Bangladesh as the national anthem. In this respect I would like to discuss a few of his books which have stirred my heart towards having an unbounded pleasure of spiritual as well as real cultural life

Language Day: 21st February

Suffice it to say that the movement of 21st February was a call for restoration of democracy for which the non-co-operation movements with the then rulers have been promulgated day by day to achieve independence as an ultimate target. Due to the fact, it was not only their sole desire to make Urdu as a state language but also there were many reasons behind it which may be reflected as Political and educational aggression, to pollute Socio-economic condition, to pollute cultural and traditional affairs, to occupy monopolies over trade and commerce, to handicap people under obligation towards submission, to surpass the people under tyrannous depletion etc and hence in regard to economical aspects in common life, the goods which were produced by our painstaking people from our land and factories were taken to the West Pakistan and priced cheaply in that land but it was costly to us to consume. From such agitation, our movement for independence had been picked up the pace day by day. From such point, it is clear that after the emergence of Bangladesh such profile of economy either Micro or Macro has been achieved due to active intervention of our people in different sectors of development. This identity whatever we posses were not possible if 21st February was not created to retaliate the tyrannical boom of the then rulers of Pakistan. And as such, in this day some young persons of our country have declared indomitable movement to create confrontation against the conspiracy of our mother tongue. They have intensified the movement by degrees and being polemical, the then rulers have invaded them and ultimately they had shot them dead. This is such a movement where our heroes have laid down their lives for the cause of dignity of our mother tongue. In the whole world, such unparalleled movement has never been taken place. Like each year, this year has carried out this day with due somber mood and prominence and as such we celebrate this day with honour according to the heritage of the country. This day is mixed with our Independence Day as if it is mixed with our blood and bone. The heroes who have laid down their lives for the cause of our equality, liberty and national prestige of our country shall remain ever memorable to us
It is very interesting issue. The world is advancing everyday in many matters. But in the real sense Bangladesh is either in static state or slipping behind in most of the areas. We really do not have any national vision and any mission to achieve it. The quality of leadership has gone down drastically. In our school days the first boys usually used to be class captain. They were not only meritorious students. They were equally brilliant in extra curricular activities. Now only mastans having muscle powers are student leaders. Mastan like Faloo, Harsi Chowdhury rose to the level of PM’s advisor. So imagine whether Bangladesh is advancing or not. In 1970 it usually used to take about 45 Minutes to travel from Gazipoor to Dhaka cioty centre now it may take couple of hours due to congestions. Can we compare the quality of any of the present Secretaries of Government to the skills of those in 1970s or even 80s. Talking about sports , have we found out anyone of the quality of Salahuddin, Enayet or Shantoo in soccer, or Saber, Sadeque in hockey, Have we produced another swimmer like Musharraf? In 1970s Dr.Habibur Rahman was Chairman ,Petrobangla .Now can you compare any other PB chairmen with him.

Unfortunately in the rest of the world most of the things change for the better every day. We do not need rocket science every where. But we are definitely not advancing. We are rather sinking and may soon get swept away in any SIDR or Nargis in not too distant future

Sleepless night

Closing my eyes ,i am thinking .what i have done in this earth? Why i am still alive? What i am giving to other? People why remind me? Let do something for people.. Poor ,hungry people..helpless people. In bangladesh there are so many childre starving for food...they have no place to sleep...all day some of they work hard which is not comfortable for them ..the get a small wage ...it is really painful for us ..we must take care of them...we have to save them..thats what i think all night...

Digital Bangladesh

Bangladesh is resounding with the target of achieving digital bangladesh .The golden jubliee of the independence of Bangladesh would be observed in 2021.The country has already fixed its target of achieving 'DIGITAL BANGLADESH' by that time. It is a timely expectation for proper positioning the country among other hi-tech countries globally. Digital Bangladesh is a buzzword of present time. It means it will be an e-state and all its activities of governance ,commerce, education, agriculture etc. Will be powered by computer and internet. today information communication technology (ICT) drives the technological and economic advancement of the developed as well ar emerging economies .The goal of establishing such digital country would bring success in the ICT sector, wich can't be ingnored in this 21st century. heading towards tgat target will link every device such as cell phone, internet, computer, e-governance etc. Though late, Bangladesh is already connected with SEA-ME-WE4 submarine fiber-optic cable connection. The government needr to adopt a viable ICT policy and set up a state of the art Hi-tech park with a view to flourishing the ict sector .it is time to take initgatgve to hand over a computer to evry child of the country. The broadband internet charge needs to ae reduced at minimum levek.
