The Samsung B2100 Xplorer,
a tough phone made under
the US Military Standard 810F
standard, according to which
the phone can stand for 30
minutes in 1 meter deep
water or even in very
extreme temperature with
no damage or problem. It
was announced in March,
ascertained to be strong and
resistant to impact, anti-dust
and dirt as the Sonim XP3
Enduro can be.
If you'remember the
Samsung B2700 ’s looks you
will feel familiar with the
Samsung B2100 when you
look at it the first time. But
the B2100 has a better
locking mechanism on the
battery cover and more
dedicated microphone-
setting function and a new
resonance than the B2700.
The dimension is
113x48.9x17.4mm and the
weight is about 103 grams.
The display is 1.77 inches,
TFT technology, with 26k
colors, 120x160 pixels
resolution. It is also
equipped with a flashlight at
the top. A 1.3 MP camera and
stereo Bluetooth with A2DP
support facilities are packed.
However, the 3G capabilities
and digital compass and
Altimeter are not included in
this device.
Music player, FM radio, and
the internal antenna are all
featured in the Samsung
B2100 Xplorer. The FM radio
in particular, is able to save
many radio frequency
broadcast. Nevertheless not
too many songs could be
saved as a result of the 7MB
internal memory which is so
limited. Then additional
memory on the B2100 is
very necessary. The external
memory slot supports Micro
SD, which will be a big help.
As for the 1.3MP camera, we
have to say it is no more than
a toy. This Samsung B2100 is
quad-band, with features of
GSM and EDGE network with
850/900/1800/1900 Mhz
frequency waves, which
adds marks in terms of
business use.
The Samsung B2100 is
expected to be present in
Europe in April 2009, and the
price is supposed to be
around 100 euros or $136
